SKY HOUSE

High-end penthouse with views on the marina of Hasselt. An intense collaboration with the client and executors led to a highly detailled result where the owner really feels at home. We approach interior design in an architectural way by creating strong space concepts that are translated into one whole making sense on aesthetic, functional and technical level. Here we wanted to create ‘connected atmospheres’ whereby all the spaces have their own uniqueness and intimacy but are linked thanks to the openness, sight lines and materiality. The sliding doors have a flexible role in this. The first concept is the 2 contrasting volumes - dark wooden volume as an extension of the outside architecture & light textured volume as a guide through the apartment - which are in dialogue with one another. The second is the archeological layeredness that can be found in the living room and which was inspired by the clients’ interest in historical objects. Textures and lighting underline the above and together with the extisting furniture from the clients former country house it forms an eclectic minimalist whole. This project is a nice example of one of our core values not to make new artificial interiors but lively spaces that grow organically. We try to bring together past and present in order to give a soul to our clients projects.
